Making the Grocery List

Making the Grocery List

Posted on 19 October 2009 by sie

Tomorrow is grocery day. Since I am trying to diversify our diet, the list making process is a little more time consuming. I’ve been looking through April’s blog for ideas, other paleo blogs, and there is always Google. I think I am going to play with some cabbage “coleslaw”, and I found a recipe for a kale coleslaw that looks tasty on www.recipezaar.com. I like to use that website when trying to find ideas because they have a recipe sifter tool that allows you to serach by item/meal/preparation/etc. I’m also going to play with spaghetti squash, and try to make some paleo crackers. QB has been really patient with the latest food monotony, so I am also going to make him a paleo key lime pie (but I’ll have to try *some* for damage prevention…..yeah…).

I’m also trying to find other ways to use Brewer’s yeast. After much digging and thinking, I have decided to buy some low-sodium V8 and drink a mixture of 1C V8 with 1T Brewer’s Yeast (warmed) when I wake up. Talk about a nutrition boost without a large calorie hit! Just take a look at this nutrition:

I also wanted to mention a little more about my green tea consumption. I like tea. I have always been a big tea drinker. When I say I drink tea, I really drink tea. I usually drink about 5-10 cups of hot tea a day and several glasses of my cold Earl Grey Green tea (when the pitcher in the fridge isn’t empty). Just thought I would mention that to everyone. QB says we need two whistling kettles to keep up with our *my* tea consumption instead of just the one.
Oh, one more thing. My weight is still sitting at 128lbs. I haven’t mentioned it because there really hasn’t been anything to mention. I will probably end up about 10 lbs lighter with the CR, but I don’t want to lose too quickly. Right now my weight is slowly dropping, so that is good.
