Please allow me to introduce myself, I am Sie (pronounced “sigh”). I am a Radical Life-Extensionist and Transhumanist who started Calorie Restriction with Optimal Nutrition in September of 2009, then recommitted to the vegan lifestyle on November 5th, 2010 after eating a mostly vegan diet since February of 2010. I am a seeker of knowledge, and have a compulsive research habit. I blog to have a history of my thoughts, research, and evolution as well as to inspire myself and others.
Humans and NonHumans In My Life
Do I really believe I can achieve immortality?
Obviously, that’s a tall order. However, the probability for radical life extension technology to be available to me in the next few decades is very real. I will not resign myself to a century when I could have 5 centuries or more. Aging research, genetic manipulation, and bio-mechanical technology are just a few areas of science that will hopefully propel me into the centuries to come. As a race, humans are beginning to take control over their own evolution. I want to be one of the pioneers. I want to take control of my own evolution. Much of the technology I need is still being developed, so I need a plan. An immortal plan. I must do what I can to stay alive and healthy for as long as possible so I can have the opportunity to take advantage of life extending technologies.
Currently, the only scientifically way known way to extend our life is Calorie Restriction with Optimal Nutrition. Eat less while reaching all nutritional targets. The mechanism is not currently fully understood, but science knows that calorie restriction works for a variety of species from nematodes, mice, and on going studies on monkeys are showing favorable results. So, practicing calorie restriction the first step in my plan.
This blog will not only document my Calorie Restriction journey, but I also include what I learn along the way. Staying current on research is important, and I want to share what I know to help others stay aware too. I have done a lot of nutrition research, but I will be expanding to cover more genetics, transhumanist ideology, anti-aging research, and cryonics research. To obtain indefinite lifespans, we will likely need most, if not all, of these branches of research.
The worst thing you can do is to believe you have no control over your death.
We have much more control now compared to 100 years ago, so why do we not consider what control we will have over death 100 years from now? Take control. Practice calorie restriction. Sign up for cryonics. And, keep learning. Knowledge is power over Death.
If you are not familiar with the book, “The Scientific Conquest of Death“, it is a great introduction to the science and philosophy over radical life extension and immortal philosophy. You can read it online for free thanks to the Immortality Institute.
