And On The Second Day

Posted on 03 January 2011 by sie

My first day off and the second day of the new year. I’ve been spending a lot of time on facebook lately. Being that this year is my 10 year high school reunion, I’ve been more motivated to find people I went to school with. So, in a matter of days, my facebook friend list incremented by a quantity of ~thirty. LOL. This sparked motivation to dig up old pics and put them online. I haven’t spent too much time adding pics, but I’ve been adding pics like crazy over the last day. I’m having a lot of FUN doing this.

I have a lot of fun looking at what my classmates have been up to the past 10 year.  Some are married, some have babies, some have been around the world, some have all sorts of degrees: engineering, Ph.Ds, doctors, lawyers, musicians, I have seen it all so far. I went to a math and science high school the last two years of high school, so I was with a very intelligent, creative, and eccentric bunch of people.

My facebook activity in the past few days is almost embarrassing. But I rationalize by the fact that I haven’t spent much time with pictures or looking for people so I am just making up for lost time! Ha.

Which leads me to my gratitude’s for today.

1:I’m grateful for Facebook because without something of its like, keeping up with people in this quantity is pretty much impossible. Family members, friends, old school mates. Too see pictures of all their lives. Read about what they are doing. Where they live. I’m glad I live in an age to have this resource.

2: I’m grateful for sleep in days. Especially the first day after day shift. Especially after I went to bed at 2:30am and got up at 5am on the last day of work. Yeah. New Year’s get together at the neighbors. Yum….sleep…..omnomnom.

3: I’m grateful for digital cameras. Especially those really awesome D10 type cameras. I don’t have one yet, but knowing that I can get one eventually is nice. So many old old pics of mine are going to have to be scanned. I need to buy a scanner.

4: I’m grateful for having a sense of smell that allows me to taste the yumminess of food. QB was talking about how his father lost his sense of smell, and thus can’t taste food like he use to. That is sad. Enjoying food is a nice pleasure of life that, like anything, is good in moderation and quality is much better than quantity.

My food for today mimicked my work patten for the past few days. Partly because that was the easy thing to do, and partly because I need to go to the grocery store.
