Body Aches and Bread (sick day #2)

Posted on 01 December 2010 by sie

Today was pretty much a classic flu sick day. I ran a ~+2F fever all day, poor appetite which led to simplistic eating, major body aches that not even 600mg of ibuprofen could clear, stopped up sinuses complete with a sinus headache, and as of a few hours ago I am starting to feel some reactive arthritis. I never had reactive arthritis until I had a bad bacterial infection in 2008, now when I get really sick, it comes back. It’s mild though, and so far it seems to go away once I get well. Some people aren’t so lucky.

After I got out of bed in which I slept for about 10-11hrs, I was able to be somewhat productive with some projects I am working on, but only because they are all online stuff. I’m way to fatigued for any real activities, heck walking across the cabin makes me feel like I just ran several miles without stopping! Ack.

My lack of appetite led to simple, and not very varied eating today. When I get the flu, or have poor appetite for some reason, one of the only foods I can eat is saltines. Well, we didn’t have any, but we did have some fresh plain bread from my favorite grocery store. Between those and the clementines, that’s where I got most of my calories.

I’m off to bed. Here’s my funky eating.

My breakfast! This was followed by a little bread. Lol.

Food for November 30th – Sick Day #2

Zevia and Green Tea (0)
11 Clementines (~243)
McDougall’s Chunky Tomato Soup (180)
Marco Polo Bread + Smart Balance Light (713)

Yes, that’s it. I wanted to drink a juice or eat something else, but the thought really turned my stomach. Even the bread wasn’t ideal, but I could tolerate it. So weird find almost everything nasty.

Oh my gosh!! This is EXACTLY how I eat when I am sick too! Saltines are one of the only foods I can eat along with the odd thing like a clementine and bread.
