Alrighty, I should be past the worst of the weird side effects from my medication change up. Between a combination of migraines and anxiety/restlessness, it’s been an uncomfortable past few days. I had to get off this particular medication because it’s side effects were making the benefits not worth it.
I’m feeling much better today, so I am hoping the worst has past. I’m ready to get back to my usual routine (what there is of one at least), because I’m type of person that likes predictability. I like to be able to plan my day, and at least work around any unknowns. The past few days have all been unknowns, but I’ve still managed to keep my diet on track. I also experienced a lack of appetite too, so my calories are averaging a little lower than usual.
It’s strange not having an appetite while having an intense feeling of physical hunger and emptiness at the same time. I’m usually hungry with a healthy appetite. If I felt this way all the time, CR would be really easy. Food just wasn’t really a temptation, and I would “forget” to eat. By forget I mean time would pass faster than I realized, so even though I was hungry it felt like I had just eaten and I thought I should wait longer.
I’m back at work tonight, and plan on visiting a vegan forum I recently became a member of. When I went vegan the first time, I never thought to seek out forums. So, this is a neat new area for me. Maybe I’ll find/learn something neat to share here.
I’m going to go over my food for the past 3 days, then put this medication blah behind me so I can move on to productive things. :-)
On the 17th, I tried out a new vegan protein powder. The local health food store (that we rarely visit), had some samples. I picked up the berry flavor, but found it was TOO berry for my likes. I want to go back and try the vanilla, but I have no idea when I’ll get around to that.
I also got to eat out with QB and a friend of ours. We went for Thai…big surprise. I ordered the Thai Red Curry w/ Vegetables and Tofu as usual BUT I asked for it to be made with out the fish sauce. Almost all Thai places put fish sauce in many of their dishes, and will make it with out if you ask. They had no problems making me one without, and didn’t inquire as to why so no vegan conversation ever came up.

This wasn't as good as the place we usually go to, but it sure was pretty! I eat this with out the rice.
Before I ate all that, I ended up eating my “breakfast” at my favorite grocery store because I almost woke up too late for a Dr appointment and had to rush out the door without any food. A simple meal of tea and pineapple is what I ate as an appetizer to the curry we ate a couple hours later.

Yesterday, the 18th, was not as friendly of a day.The headaches transitioned to anxiety/extreme restlessness on this day, so my eating was a little more erratic. I started my day well with my hempilicious sorbet, then had some tofu scramble. I then forgot to eat for many hours, and was very hungry later that evening. I ate my chia pudding, but then snacked a bit -which was strange because my appetite wasn’t that strong, but the particular snacks had a comforting texture which made them enjoyable to eat. So, the 18th was mostly healthy and some less than ideal snacks.

I wonder which vegan forum… If you get kicked out of one for critical thinking (or claiming that vitamin B12 actually is a vitamin and that we need to get it from food or supplements), like I did, don’t feel discouraged, there are other vegan forums ;)
I’m glad your new drug side effects are starting to dissapear.

I have been to many not so friendly vegan forums, but my first inspection of this one looks good. *Fingers Crossed* Maybe you’ve been in it? Vegan Freaks. They make you write an intro and get approved to enter the forum. Most of the people so far seem more open minded, but I haven’t been approved for long….so I don’t want to speak on their behalf just yet…but it doesn’t seem like I’ll get kicked out for having critical thinking skills. :-\

I have just registered there, but am yet to write my introduction. I’m a member of Vegan Represent Forum. We have a CR thread there, but it’s not very active.

Not sure if I’ve seen that one; I’ll check it out. I’m intrigued that there is a CR section, even it if isn’t very active.
