Today was much better than the last few days. I didn’t have a raging appetite, so my calories were kept under control. My number probably would have been lower, but we headed out the door just after we got up to run an errand and my stomach was slightly nauseous so I ate a few of QB’s peanut butter crackers. I tend to be very susceptible to car sickness, and today was just one of those days.
Besides keeping my calories in line today, I also made a wonderful vegan chili. So good. And very low calorie. :-D
My energy was also up today, and QB and I wrestled a big couch up our narrow staircase that we picked up for free thanks to craigslist. We have furnished most of our house by searching the free section of craigslist. Seriously. Sure some things don’t quite match, but it adds to the eccentricity of our house. I really don’t like the perfect matching house look; it’s just not me.
On another positive note, I started a compost bin. I know, I know, I’m a little late to that party. I just haven’t had the motivation to put that drive into gear until today. I swear we are living on top of an unharvested earthworm farm, so there is really no excuse. If I want to collect earthworms from the yard, I don’t even have to dig. I can just rake in a few spots and they are everywhere.
In the category of neat ZERO-calore new consumables, I also want to tell you that the zero-calorie natural stevia sweetened cola, Zevia, is awesome. It’s a bit pricy (~$5 / 6pack), but it makes for a nice treat. Too expensive to drink on a regular basis, but if they ever go on sale I am stocking up. QB and I have tried the regular cola and the ginger-root beer. Both are tasty.
