Goji-Goji. August 24th.

Following the “try-something-new” mindset, I also bought some Goji powder yesterday. I’ve seen Ag use it in her smoothies, and I was curious. I added it to my usual smoothie, but it’s flavor was a bit masked. I could taste it, but barely. So, to give it a chance it fully express itself, I decided to smoothie up when I got home too. The hemp is a very strong flavor, so that had to go. To keep the smooth creamy flavor I used an unsweetened coconut milk beverage instead, and frozen strawberries for texture. I also used more goji powder than the morning smoothie hoping to really bring out it’s flavor. And?

My goji smoothie was pretty tasty. I’ve heard some don’t like the flavor, but I sure didn’t see any problem. Yum.

Goji berries are also known is Wolfberries, and are commonly marketed as some amazing superfood. I think that is a bit silly, but I do like their Iron content. 11g has 8% RDI of Iron. They also supposedly contain some great antioxidants, but I think I get all sorts of those in my diet anyway. So, I didn’t buy the goji powder for anything other than it’s novelty and iron. I considered acia, pomegranate, or camu powder and will probably try some of these when I get the itch for something different.
