I decided to completely change up my usual post-grocery store-on-the-way-from-work snack. I have in the more recent past bought a roll, apple, blueberries, or carrot juice and have paired it with a black or jasmine green tea. Before my low sugar push, I might have gotten a few organic sour gummy worms from the bulk section, or maybe some chocolate covered almonds. Sometimes I would split a bagel with QB, or maybe I would even split some type of raw bar with him too. When it’s just me though, I have lately just gone for the roll. I need a mentally satisfying substitute.
I like my on-the-way-home snack. The goal right now isn’t to give this treat up, but to ensure I find low calorie mentally satisfying options. Yesterday was a day for experimentation. It started by selecting golden raspberries, then while I was looking at the tea selections the lemongrass green tea caught my eye.
So, golden raspberries and lemongrass green tea it was.
The raspberries were not very sweet, but they had a nice juicy texture which made eating them fun. The lemongrass green tea was surprisingly good. It was lemon-ish-ie with maybe a strange ginger-but-not-ginger undercurrent. I’ll definitely buy this again.
Sadly, bottled tea may not be much more than a thirst quencher.
