Simple Peach Oatmeal

Posted on 17 June 2010 by sie

After eating berry oatmeal for 2 moths, it was time for a change. Peach oatmeal use to be a favorite of mine, so I decided it was time once again to love the peaches. This recipe is very simple, but you can add any spices or maybe some almond milk if you want to make it a little more exciting. I had a nice big bowl yesterday, and it was scrumptious.

Simple Peach Oatmeal

(serves 6)

840g Frozen Peaches
240g Oats
90g Wheat Bran
Stevia (I add enough to make it fairly sweet)

(Individual Serving)
140g Frozen Peaches
40g Oats
15g Wheat Bran

Weigh the peaches, and put them in a med-large pot with about 8 cups of water. Keep in mind that you will have to keep adding water throughout the cooking process. Heat the peaches on high until they start to boil, then turn the stove to medium. Continue cooking for about 30 minutes until the peaches are well done. Take a potato masher, and mash the peaches some. They should easily break apart. Use the masher just to break them up some, then add the oats and bran.

Cook on low for approximately another 30 minutes, or until the oats are done. Stir frequently, and add water when needed. I like my oatmeal pretty runny, so I add a lot of water. If you like you oats thick, just be careful not to burn them.
