Please Pass the Anti-AGE, Part II

Posted on 26 November 2009 by sie

I this post I am going to discuss how I am changing my supplement regime by adding certain anti-glycation supplements, and I am also going to present the related supplements in this category that Michale Rae is taking.

For those who are interested, he as written an complete analysis and report of his supplement regime and posted it at the end of October 2009 on the Immortality Institute’s Forums. I intend on further researching other supplements he is taking, but for now I am just going to mention the ones known for their anti-glycation effects.

Of the supplements I discussed in my previous post, here is what Michael Rae is taking and the links he provided to his sources:

* Pyridoxamine, 50mg 4 times a day
* P5P, 50mg once a day, taken after breakfast
* Taurine, 675mg once a day, taken in the evening

I have decided to add the following to my supplement regime, and will post an updated supplement regime with these and other slight changes following this post. Since I am fairly new to supplementation for life extension/anti-aging, I am approaching the topic with caution and research, and I expect I may tweak it at I higher rater than most who are already settled into a supplement regime. As I fine new (or new for me) studies, I may add or change my supplementation practice. I am completely open to critique, as long as good evidence is presented, because
ego isn’t known to help extend lives. :-p

My additions related to anti-glycation/AGE formation prevention:
* Pyridoxamine, 50mg twice a day
* P5P, 50mg once a day, taken with “morning” supplements
* Taurine, 500mg once a day, taken with “evening” supplements
